Rediscovering Purpose: Finding Fulfillment in the People, Not Just the Process
Every journey has moments when you feel stuck — even when you’re doing something you love. As an auctioneer, there have been times when I questioned my progress, wondering if I was growing fast enough, reaching high enough, or doing enough to stand out in this ever-evolving industry. It’s easy to get caught up in chasing perfection — the perfect chant, the perfect sale, the perfect performance — and lose sight of what truly matters.
But through those moments of uncertainty, I’ve come to realize something powerful: the greatest reward in this journey isn’t the trophies, titles, or sales — it’s the relationships you build along the way.
The auction community is one of the most supportive and uplifting groups of people I’ve ever known. From mentors who generously share their wisdom to fellow auctioneers who cheer you on every step of the way, the encouragement and friendships within this profession have been what keep me moving forward. Whether it’s sharing advice before a big competition or celebrating someone else’s success, those connections remind me why I started in the first place.
I’ve learned that growth doesn’t always look like a straight line — sometimes it’s found in the people who lift you up, challenge you, and believe in you when you start to doubt yourself. The support I’ve received has reignited my passion and reminded me that this career isn’t just about selling — it’s about connecting, serving, and being part of a community that feels like family.
No matter where I am in my journey, I now know that success isn’t measured by how quickly you rise but by the relationships you nurture along the way. And for me, that’s the most meaningful reward of all.
